Thank you Dallas Morning News for the wonderful cover article in the Home section!

Welcome to Personal Outdoor Dwelling Systems.  Our purpose is to create an outdoor living area that gives you the maximum enjoyment of your property.  We can do this through landscaping, xeriscaping, patio design, outdoor systems of all sorts.  We will meet with you and personally discuss, visualize, and create your individual concept for your property.

The design will be site specific, sustainable, eco-friendly and healthy for your family.  We are constantly searching to reclaim building materials.  These efforts help the environment by diverting these materials from entering landfills.

We now offer Healthy Home Consultations, as well as making the move to Green Consultations.  Contact us so we can help you make the important move to GREEN!

Personal Outdoor Dwelling System's newest creation.  The Clients requested a space by the pool and spa to entertain.  They required a place that the kids could watch TV, have sleep overs, as well as a place for the adults to unwind from a busy schedule.  The clients also requested the space to be as open as possible, so nine doors were incorporated.  The space is 149 square feet.

Personal Outdoor Dwelling System's latest creation! We are constructing a bent steel structure that encompasses the existing round patio, and frames the beautiful garden.

This model was custom designed and built for the particular needs of the client.  Orientation and placement of the structure maximizes the shade and protection from the harsh Texas sun.  To provide this client privacy, the back and one side of the structure is without openings or windows.  A beautiful mitered window adorns the front of the structure framing the lovely vegetable garden.   A total of four doors completely open the space to the view of the garden.  The bamboo floor is easy on the feet, very soothing to the eyes and contrasts the warm hues of the mahogany walls.  The compact air conditioner maintains a cool temperature in summer and warmth in the winter.  Cove lighting gives cool light with a dimming switch for different moods.  The deck performs multiple tasks.  It is a place for plants, a sitting area on a cool night, and is a pleasing welcoming space.

The solar angles of the location were used to determine the slope and size of steel shade structure roofs.  The granite tile mosaic floor space is in complete shade during the summer months, and in the warmth of the winter sun.  The recycled concrete rocks enclosed in wire mesh, create a thermal mass for the fireplace.  The space is used for morning coffee, intimate evenings by the fire or as a gathering place for friends.
